Well last week we had our first vistor and special guest appearance to Pimpashirt. This week we bring to you our first member provided artwork for Pimpashirt #12. But it doesn’t stop there…no no…the music track was also courtesy of the same member…Maleec from Six Deuce Music out of our own backyard, Pittsburgh, PA. Special thanks go out to Maleec for providing us with this weeks creation. Before we get down to the nitty gritty of Pimpashirt #12, we would like to invite anyone out there to follow in Maleec’s foot steps and provide us with your designs or music to help us build this fast growing community of t-shirt enthusiasts.
Now let’s get on with Maleec’s creation. I (pimpashirt emcee Mike) met Maleec while pursuing my Masters degree and heard some of his music while working in the same computer lab. So I decided to send him an email and see if he would be interested in providing us with some instrumental tracks for our videos. As you will hear in the video, he graciously sent us this weeks music track “Breathe” along with his “Mr. Money Up Front” t-shirt design. Check it out.
Mr. Money Up Front - Pimpashirt #12
Pic 2 Pre-Printed Heat Transfer
Maleec told me that he wanted some bling in his t-shirt, so naturally we used some gold foil and neon heat transfer vinyl along with some standard white and black. We also used a metallic based pre-printed transfer (pic 2) this week for a little extra added flavor. Nothing all that ground breaking as far as technique this week, but it goes to show you that with a good design and some specialty finsh vinyl, you can still make a hot customized t-shirt.
Before we get to the video, we would like to introduce a few new sections to pimpashirt.com…Around the WORLD and Gallery. Around the WORLD is a call out to all of our members to submit their pics of pimpashirt inspired creations. You can read more about the type of stuff we’re looking for by clicking the Around the WORLD section at the top of the page. The gallery section is photo related as well, we’re devoting it to still images of all of our pimpashirt creations, so new visitors or repeat visitors can easily glance through all of the creations we have pimped. These new sections along with the free art we are starting to post at the bottom of the right sidebar gives you all the more reason to subscribe to Pimpashirt – click here and enter your email to subscribe.
Now sit back, relax and enjoy the video of Pimpashirt #12 brought to you by Maleec from Six Deuce Music.
Holding the shirt up to the window is another pimpashirt technique to speed up the cooling process of a cold peel material, which the foil we used is. Whether or not a teflon sheet is used depends on the heat transfer material being used. The application instructions will let you know if one is necessary.
Love the shirt Mike Thanks. I will have to send you some footage of me and the shirt in action. I will definetly plug pimpashirt.com every chance I get. Check out my myspace page for your source of Pittsburgh Hip Hop. Leave me a message if you know of someone who deserves some recognition!
This is a really cool shirt. But how did you do the dollar bills? Was it printed on something and if so, what?
It was a pre-printed transfer that was printed on our Solutions Metallic with the Roland VersaCAMM.
Why did you hold the shirt up to the window after you pressed the foil? And how do you know when to use a teflon sheet?
